So I was bored, and I read the latest Holic chapters, and I figured "damn you CLAMP for making me worry". Then I looked at my LJ memories and saw a huge bunch of fics, and I decided to make a list because I'm OC like that.

* Truth be told, I haven't been poking around the fandom lately AND I LIVE UNDER A HEAVY ROCK, so my recs are a bit outdated. Please comment if you have any recs of your own, and I'll find time to read them and link them here if I enjoy them. :)

* Please take note that these are my recs, meaning they are my personal favourites. I strongly suggest you make your own list if you want to show yours. That way we have more fics to read! *u*)/ I can link to your reclist, too.

* I have a strong aversion to FANFICTION.NET. There are probably a few gems there, but I just can't stand the place. However, please enlighten me if there are good stuff in FF.net, or if you spot any mistakes in this list. I'd probably be updating this as time goes by, anyway.

If Wishes Were Fishes, rated G. Watanuki celebrates his birthday alone, until Doumeki. Awww-worthy.

House of a Hundred Regrets, rated PG-13. Donuts fic with plot is very rare, so this was a precious read.

Things You Only Wish You Knew About Ichihara Yuuko, rated PG. Oh wow, Doumeki writes for his OWN fandom, now! This is Yuuko-centric, but even the hot Donuts is only an addition I really, really liked how she portrayed their relationship. Most importantly, I love her Yuuko.

Single Men Can Too Cook, chapters 23456 rated PG-13. I found this really striking and entertaining. Too bad the fic is labeled 'to be continued'. I'm not sure if the author intends to continue it, even. :(

Initiation, rated PG-13. Watanuki is too easy to fool, and oh, I laughed so hard at this one. Oh Watanuki, never change. xD

July, rated R. OH I LOVE THIS, so so much. This fic is HOT, in every sense of the word. You can really feel like it's summer on the beach, and then you realise that good lord they're in public, and after reading you'll be left sweaty and happy!

With, rated R. Several snippets of Doumeki and Watanuki's life as a really dysfunctional -- but sweet -- couple. I am a huge fan of "established couple" fics, and this is definitely THE ICING ON THE CAKE. I have so much love for this fic that cannot be said in mere words!

Wait on Him, rated G. The prompt request was non-sexual, physical contact in their mid-thirties. The characters are more mature, but they insist on amusing banter, which makes the fic a wonderful read.

Denial, by any other name, rated NC-17. Rarely do fanfic writers GET Donuts porn and make it ROCK THE WORLD, but this was the steamiest "established relationship" porn I've ever read. And it's written for me, so it makes me extra giddy! I love Watanuki's half-assed attempts at denying the porn, and Doumeki being sneaky and horny and HOT, and you know Yuuko is behind everything, she really is. (Someday, I will be coherent, yesiree)

Desideratum, rated R. Oh, god. Watanuki wants Doumeki to loosen up and lose control and Doumeki's so whipped and *INSERT ALL WORDS SYNONYMOUS TO HOT HERE*

Ripe, NC-17. Juicy, fruit!porn. I can always count on Drae to provide us with the best smut ♥ Exciting prose that avoids becoming a cliche. xD

The Excessive Use of Alibis, rated G. Haruka shows up, Doumeki is jealous of everything, and Watanuki is Watanuki. Guuuh. I wanted to give Doumeki a tight hug. :(

Imprinting. It's a Home-Made Doujinshi that's so darn cute. It's the cutest thing since, well, damnit, it's just so effing adorable. Check it out!

Second Person, Present Dense, rated PG-13. You know, I really liked how witty the title was, and how Doumeki managed to tell Watanuki to just stop worrying and love him already. xD

The No Romance Man, rated G. Watanuki insists that he is a manly man, devoid of any girly thoughts. HAH! xD This is really cute. It even has ALL CAPS, strikethroughs, and numbering! ...and I make no sense

Designated Driver, rated G. Ficcentricity is an extremely talented writer, and all her fics are awesome, but this is my favourite above all. I love how quiet the whole fic feels. Monuments should be dedicated to Doumeki's patience and perseverance, seriously!

Every Macho Cell in Revolt, rated PG. Besides the fact that IT'S THE BEST TITLE EVER, it also contains epic bickering. If I had to quote a gem, I'd quote the entire fic.

Theirs is a Slightly Gay Friendship, rated PG. I think Kat is an undisputed genius when it comes to fic titles! Her usual spankin' good humour. :3

Parthian Shot, rated PG. Yummy intense!Doumeki fic. Rawr.

A Brief Record of an Unfortunate Seduction, rated PG. This is totally my favourite date fic. It's cute and fluffy and they're still very awkward around each other!

Untitled. A "fake fanfic" (according to the author), but I enjoyed the extra characters. It reveals a lot about how other people view their "relationship".

The Idea of Reciprocity, rated R. Kat tries an R-rating, and makes it good. Naughty and nice. Tee-hee~

Another Variation on Longing, rated PG-13. A bit more serious than her usual work. Great pacing, wording -- everything just FITS in this story.

Chess. Yuuko, chess, and her thoughts on Doumeki and Watanuki. Her Yuuko is PERFECT.

Scarf. Probably the sweetest thing ever. *sighs happily*

Christmas Dance, rated G. Watanuki wants to ask Himawari out for the dance, but he obsesses over Doumeki. In what he thinks is secrecy, which is actually very blatant. This fic was amusing and very cute! Normally we'd be annoyed at Watanuki for his denial, but we love him all the more for it.

Measure for Measure, rated K+. We all agree that hydr0phobia is the one of the best writers in the fandom, and this is one story that proves it. It has ACTION! DRAMA! ROMANCE! COMEDY! A simple premise of "Doumeki is the most popular guy in school" with a lot of lovely subtleties.

Anemone, rated T. So, we all have the feeling that Watanuki will take Yuuko's place. This is her take on xxxHolic, years later. Beautiful and angsty and just really, really good.

Hormones, rated PG. Doumeki just wants to get laid.

The Easiest Things, rated K. Doumeki holds strongly to what he believes in. Very powerful.

A Given Thing, rated K. Eventually Watanuki realises that his bond with Doumeki is deeper, and more permanent, than he thinks. Stunning imagery, and I love the last line with its quiet tenderness.

Someone's Prayer, rated K+. Brilliant Doumeki versus Yuuko mindfuckery debate. Every word is precious in this fic. ♥

Button Pushing, rated K+. There are no words for my love of this story: I mean, Doumeki as Watanuki's Super Hero. Lovely Banter over a cellphone. My heart is filled with glee.

And Now For Something Completely Different, rated K. Doumeki plans a first date, and things seem awkward, but Watanuki is all questioning and smug. Really cute.

A Non-Denominational Holiday, rated K. Rather fluffy Christmas fic.

Invoke, rated K+. Doumeki is very reckless when it comes to Watanuki. A+ dialogue, definitely.

Yes, rated G. I struggled with the beginning, but the latter part just blew me away. Sweet and fluffy, with weirded-out Watanuki at the end.

Locker Room Sex!, rated NC-17. Dude, don't you just love how straightforward the title is?

An Unrefusable Challenge. Watanuki is GREAT in this fic, and I love Doumeki's snarky thoughts. Extremely entertaining, and the most realistic "falling in love" fic so far.

Untitled. Doumeki plays a cool trick on Watanuki, and Himawari is overjoyed.

Tea Time. Based heavily on Volume 5 of the manga.

The World, rated G. This is the world according to Doumeki, as taught by his grandfather. I think the author originally said it was a Gen fic, but it ended up being shounen-ai. *u*

Creepy, Crawly, Giant Masses of Things. Hilarious! You pity/love Watanuki in this fic.

Five Things Yuuko Refuses To Sell. The DxW is not the main focus of the meme, but this is excellent, sometimes funny, sweet, and insane.

Not a Date, rated PG-13. I love love LOVE LOVE this fic. First date mishaps are a common theme in most fanfics, but Pero's fic is GOLDEN. Lots of laughs and awwws head your way. :3

Straight to Heart, rated PG. Doumeki decides to be straight-to-the-point, and pulls Watanuki in. Great job, Doumeki-kun! *u*)/

Blood Sacrifice, rated PG. Another masochistic!Doumeki fic. Really painful to read, but it is amazing.

Made for Nights Like These, rated PG. Pero is one of the fandom's greatest writers, so I find it difficult to make comments for her fic because I'd just repeat myself, although I'd say it again, anyway: absolutely beautiful stuff.

The Road Not Taken, rated PG-13. A delicious view on a fascinating "what-if".

Doumeki's Girlfriend, rated PG-13. Really fun dynamics during Valentine's Day xD

Spring, rated PG-13. Someday, I will stop reccing everything she writes, BUT TODAY IS NOT THE DAY. This had a great plot, characterisation, and a nice ending too.

Three, rated PG-13. There are THREE Doumekis, and they're determined to make Watanuki's life living hell...at least that's what he thinks. It's engaging, and a lot of fun, too!

The Thorn of Mind, rated PG-13. Watanuki has a secret admirer. Naturally, Doumeki is concerned. This was really well-written, and I had the chills.

A Study in Relationships, rated G. Oh, I adored this drabble. She totally GETS Doumeki and Watanuki here.

Free Advice, rated G. The companion piece to That Part Where You Have to meet the Parents. This time Yuuko poses as Watanuki's guardian. :D

Extenuating Circumstances, rated PG. This follows the "Spirits make them have sex" cliche, only it doesn't take itself too seriously. The dialogue is GRAND. It's followed by:

Extenuating Circumstances - The Evening Before, rated R. I had this really silly grin while reading, and I was blushing with embarrassment for Watanuki. The Day After comes next, and a fluffy, pleasant epilogue.

Routine and Surprises, rated PG. Boy-kissing and aggressive!Watanuki, which is COOL. Followed by Conversation on the floor of a not-quite-empty house, which is both charming and thought-provoking.

Two Snippets, rated G, and PRICELESS. Promise.

Never Was, rated G. This fic made my heart drop to my stomach; convincing, and quite scary. The ending tries to appease you, but the fear lingers.

Darling, rated PG-13. Valentine's Day fic that oozes with syrupy goodness. Yay!

(Un)Deniable Loves, rated PG. Oh, this is just sexy and hot and Doumeki is so blunt. I love this!

A Desire Softly Sleeping, rated G. Doumeki wants to watch Watanuki play archery. ♥ The descriptions of Watanuki and his actions are gorgeous, and the fic shows a Doumeki who is very much in love. ♥ The fic is immediately followed by:

The Fish That Watched Us *Beeping*, rated R. It's a rather ridiculous situation, but the fic is scrumptious. Really, really hot.

[random] The thing about still_ciircee is that she refers to herself as a "porn ninja" who randomly writes fic in LJ comments. Being a stalker fan of her works, I looked around to see where she posted them, and...

Many Meetings, rated PG. Still a work in progress. Funniest crossover with Tsubasa I've ever read. Also provided one of the best lines shouted in fanfiction by a small, furry animal (Mokona): "The tentacles are coming! The tentacles are coming!"
